Dell Xps 400 Fan

all the sudden my computer monitors stopped working … HELP !!!!?

I was in the middle of a game and my monitor just stopped working. Actually my monitor still works (I have a nvidia g force 9800 and had it connected to my 42in LCD and a 24inch PC monitor. Both are working very well). Both were connected via DVI. The video card was installed and has been working fine for at least 5 months. The computer also seems to be working well. I can get it to restart (i happily memorized the sequence) and the game I was playing loads even when I reboot so I can listen to music and other things. How do to find out what is wrong, let alone fix it. It could be some kind of fuse? Virus? The fan and everything seems to be working. I'm not sure what else check. Help please. I have a Dell XPS 400 if that helps and made some improvements over the years. As the latest addition to a hard disk drive 2 on 3mths behind. Please be as detailed as possible as I'll be doing myssElf work. Thanks
