Dell Xps 400 Memory Slots

How much memory (RAM) can maintain my computer? ?

I have a Dell XPS 400 and am planning to upgrade the RAM in my computer. But I'm not sure about as much memory my computer can take. I have 1 2GB of memory on a stick, a 512 MB memory stick in another slot. I have 4 slots, and 2 open. I am planning buy one of 2 GB, so it will work? How can he expect?
