nVida XLR8 GeForce 9800 GTX + turns off your computer?
Today I finally got my new power supply (550W) to run my 9800 GTX + (requires 450W), but when I install my graphics card my computer will load to the desktop and my computer just shuts down and trys to restart but it just keeps off. I tried booting in safe mode but it still shuts down, then put my old graphics card back on the computer and works well. Oh, and the video card came with a very small cable that has 2 small pins and one end connects to the graphics card and I do not know where the other one connects to it does not bother connecting it. Is this is why my computer turns off? If so, where can I connect the other end of the cable? My computer is a Corsair 550W Dell XPS 420 2.40 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 and I'm not really sure what my mom is lol
You just have to connect the cable that has 2 small pins in order to have 2 pins for the card and the other end a four-pin cable that comes from the power supply, 4-This is easy to find among the other cable that has 4 wires 2 black 1 yellow and 1 red ending at 4 pin socket, you did with your old card.Anyway have a good look at your manual geforce question seems to be your card does not have enough energy to work.I second chance is that you have a defective card and should return it to the store for replacement (it happened to me twice3)
