dell xps 9000 memory
I get this Dell XPS 9000?

I know this is probably more than what I need. I use it mainly for games, but I do not not play anything with extreme graphics, but I have the money to buy a present and I'm wanting one that will last me awhile. Studio Dell XPS 9000 Intel Core i7-920 (8MB L3 cache, 2.66GHz) 8GB memory (SDRAM DDR3 @ 1066MHz) 4dimms 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive, 24 "HD Monitor 1GB Nvidia Geforce GT220 Price: $ 1300.00 So what do you think …. Will it last me awhile? It is a good computer? what about the video card will suffice, as I said I did not play anything with extreme graphics. What about the monitor 24in …. it will be too large to look at when you're sitting at a table? And one more thing … the guy who built this one for the other day told me that probably work better with an odd number of memory, as 9GB, because something about the processor being tri-channel. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

The guy who built this for you seems to know what he's talking about. It's a pretty solid system. The video card is more than enough for what you're saying you want to do with it. It is certainly not top notch, but if you're going to throw everything at the highest resolution possible Hog and a real game graphics, then you should not have to worry much about it. Monitor 24 "will be perfect for you to feel as if you had a kick-@ $ $ screen, but will not feel ridiculously huge on your desk either. The computer will definitely last you a long time. I would you will get optimally 5-7 years out of it before the pieces start getting a little dated (but still perfectly usable). If you can afford a little better plate graphic, do not skimp on this, but you can probably do more good with everything listed.
