Dell Xps Audio Driver

My computer has no audio at all?

My computer crashed so we use iolo system mechanic professional to fix it, but now we have the sound drivers on the computer and I downloaded Dell says its wrong software for my computer, though its meaning for my system?! im so confused and none of the problems are helping shooters. the computer doesn't recognize speakers (which work very well with my ipod) and some of my programs such as Windows Movie Maker will not work because "the audio hardware is required can not be found on my computer" I have a Dell XPS 400, which runs on Microsoft Windows XP I do not know what to do, someone could help?

Are you sure you downloaded the version of the driver right? Dell XPS 400, XP Looks like the site Dell has options for 32 and 64-bit Windows XP. What do you run?
