dell xps bios reset
Reset the BIOS password?

I own a Dell XPS 720, and set a password through the BIOS that will appear at startup. The only problem is that when I try to enter the password, it does not recognize any of the buttons, so when I press "Enter" it simply says "incorrect password, the system hallted; must shut down. "And to make matters worse, I also a password in the BOIS, therefore, can not access them right now! Dell tech support was unresponsive. Please, if there is any way to reset the password, tell me. If you need more info, away from fire.

To reset the BIOS (also reset the passwords) you need to locate and move a jumper on the motherboard of your computer specifically designed to reset the BIOS. You should be able to find the location of this jumper and instructions in your manual or somewhere on the Dell website. If you can not do this for some reason you must locate the battery on the motherboard and remove it. If you leave it for one time, then replace the battery should reset the BIOS, along with passwords. For more information see the website below.
