My computer hangs when I install the driver NVIDIA?

So I just reformatted my computer, and I am installing the drivers. Currently, the only resolution option I have is 800×600, which is uncomfortable for the videos and work, and incompatible for the games. Then, I go to the Dell website driver, get a driver for my XPS 410's GeForce 8300 GS card and try to install it. Midway, my screen goes blank with a blinking underscore, then turns off after 5 minutes of emptiness. Then it proceeds to restart itself. I have tried to get my NVIDIA drivers directly … same results. Another thing to note when I start my computer the DELL logo looks strange with a lot of streaks of color going up and down, same thing happens with the Windows logo while in the 2nd round startup. I really want to resolve this resolution and install this driver. Can anyone explain why my computer just hangs in the middle during the installation and provide a solution to this problem? Btw: the driver only that, audio and other installed just fine …

I had problem after problem trying to install nvidia drivers for my 6100 after reformatting. I had to work, then there is hope. your motherboard probably has many built in components. make sure you have installed the driver of motherboard in the first place! I assume that you have done this, because you have audio and Ethernet, which are usually integrated. Running the "driver" just extract it to a folder of taxis. can not automatically lock when its configuration file. we remove the automatic garbage and do everything manually. I had this problem with my auto-run drivers from AMD. was caused by a gateway error they made when they packed all my drivers. Now, I do most of my updates manually. download the latest driver (191.07) and an older driver like 169.21. It is available here at CNET, which is reliable and legitimate: http://download.cnet.com/169-21-forceware-winxp-32bit-english-whql-exe/3000-2108_4-178602.html Locate the folder that contains the drivers for your video card. It will be in a folder of taxis. you may need to go to Start -> Control Panel -> Folder Options – View> and enable "show hidden "folders. my G6100 install them here: C: cabs D00445-001-001, now you know where he is, continue. keep in mind the new driver may not be the same folder that the diver legacy. watch folder taxis in the following steps to see if the drivers replace each other files in the cab or even create new ones. it is same folder on my computer. right click on My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager -> display adapters. it should show a nvidia Geforece 8300. If so, is because it has only partially installed. Double-click the view that opens. use the problem-solving. See what he says. I have only seen "this device is working properly "so it says something else, find out what it means. sorry im no help. Select the 'driver' and uninstall the driver. you can need to reboot, if not, restart the computer. bring it up in safe mode, do not ask me how. is different for each motherboard. The instructions below will take place in all the safe-mode. back to the adapter device manager display. Select the 'driver' -> 'update driver' -> 'Install a specific location "and point to the driver. try to install the legacy driver first. he'll probably say something about the driver to be older than what is installed. it does not matter install over. If it still does not work, select the 'driver' -> 'update driver' -> "install of a specific location "paint it to the folder and find taxis to install *. exe that extracts there. is usually called" setup.exe ". try to run it there. for now, if you have not installed find another legacy nvidia driver and try it. I'm not out of ideas. Forums are much better than the Y! answers the technical issue. especially if you want the correct answer. LOL. If you begin to install the legacy driver, follow the diver's most recent manager devices. you have to try to run it once the device manager before it will extract the setup.exe. assuming the drivers were interchangeable, the setup.exe will be from the last driver that you try to install (the same name = overwrite). then try again from the device manager, but point it to setup.exe in the folder of taxis. installs itself and does not work properly "roll back" the driver to the legacy of the Windows Device Manager. This way you have plenty of functionality, even if it is the latest and greatest. best of luck, man!
