In the bios, how do I get my Dell XPS 600 boot from the DVD drive?

exact same problem here (unaswered here): How to boot from DVD? [Archive] – Ubuntu Forums I posted this in the Dell forums, but they are not very helpful: Ok, you gave my recovery from a DVD to XP on my system (an XPS) when I bought it, but now I want to reinstall my OS so I formatted my HDD, can not boot from this disk because it is DVD. On the boot sequence in BIOS, only the CD-ROM is listed. The DVD-ROM is no where to be found. How do I add it to the list, instead of the cd-rom. There must be a way. I do not know why you would even gave me the reinstalation dvd first. It would be the thing more stupid than ever. Sorry, this should be the link: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-221126.html yes, I have a DVD drive

I do not think the DVD is recognized by the system or is not connected properly. Or are you sure that you have a DVD drive?
