Dell Xps Camera Not Working

How to use my digital camera as a webcame?

I just got a Canon PowerShot A540 Digital 4X graduation. I was told by someone that I can use my digital camera as a webcame too. Is that possible? If so, how do I install it to my computer. I tried several times to open the webcame part of my camera, but it seems not work. Yes, I have installed the software (CD). For you know, I have a Dell XPS 400. If any one knows how to help in any way I would be happier. Thank you!

where u try to use as web cam? Yahoo? AOL and not ur cam live recording is not only one shot and also u might need ur driver uninstal and reinstall u can install it obtained currupted camera taken away ur pics ur still could partion web got corrupted
