Dell Xps Dimension 420

Moving a Dell Dimension 4300 hard drive for Dell XPS 420? Different connections?

Trying to change my old storage drive dive school my Dell Dimension 4300 for my new Dell XPS 420. The oldest is 40 pin? (two rows of pins really small) and 4-wire connections white. My new XPS only has cables to something else, called S-ATA I think. Is there a converter? There has to be fast, just have to move some data then get rid of the old hard drive. My Dimension years is shot, then I realize I can not just move the data on my wireless network. Any suggestions?

THe old HDD is called a 80pin connection and you say that the XPS has only SATA connections (not 80pin IDE). Your best bet would be to start a process external HDD. (www.tigerdirect.com) and use it to hook onto the new computer via USB cable and you can download all the files you want and then format it and use it to store files to take with you.
