Dell Xps Express Service
adding RAM to laptop?
I have 504 MB of RAM rite now went to the Dell website type in my service tag and I can get a RAM 512 MB for $ 39 or I can get the module 1 GB of memory for $ 59 1 I shud get or be compatible with my laptop …… additional computer information Windows XP service pack2, Centrino mobile technology Intel Pentium 1.60GHz, R 915GM/GMS Intel 910GML Express chipset family, the maximum memory can hold my laptop is 2048 oh yeah and the memory of the chipset or graphics thingy is 96.0mb … so jealous of my sister has brand new Dell XPS Laptop high speed over 2000 MB of memory top-line … GRRRR I have Hamy low
Since you provide Dell with the service tag, you can surely get the 1G RAM and expect it to work on your laptop. I would recommend the 1G. Adding the 512 will take you up to 1G, but will use both of their slots. So if you want to increase the RAM in the future, you would have to remove and dispose of their chips. Get 1G, then you will have about 1.5G, which is quite adequate. I have the DELL setup you do, but with 1G and I am very pleased with it.
