my button battery in my laptop continues to blink even though I've moved to a new unit. Can anyone give feedback

I just changed the battery pack Dell computer, but the (light that indicates the cause of the battery) continues to blink real fast and its annoying. I do not want to hurt my Dell XPS M170. Thanks for your input! Mike in Kuwait
