Hello, my Dell XPS Gen 5 is outdated and need a motherboard that can support one PCI Express 2.0 x16 I could put a new motherboard in the same case and put the new motherboard and components-http: / / www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0316814 Graphics Card-http: / / www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0317757 Memory-http: / / www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0264254 Right now I'm running a Pentium D. Does this all work and that all fit in my XPS Gen 5 Case Thanks for the help ahead of time.
No, you will have to change the process but it is not so bad, because you can move on and you all have a better supply of energy in the process. You have a Dell-Proprietary case and motherboard which means that motherboards standard ATX will not fit. Dell did this to you most. I would change the processor though. This will a huge difference. I'll see if I can not find a setting that is about the same price you're looking to spend, including the case CPU, motherboard, power supply and RAM. I used to work at TigerDirect and I'm very good at it … lol So far, I see your budget is $ 273. This should be real easy …
Ok, up front, forget that the video card, not worth it to get a Radeon HD 4670 IceQ because the HD 4670s are not hot enough to be worth. Moreover, they do not perform any functions that require 1GB of RAM, both options, while nice on Radeon 4870s and up, are an unnecessary trap for your money on a HD 4670 CPU.: AMD Athlon X2 6000 + 3.0GHz OEM – $ 61 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103772 CPU Cooler: Rosewill AM2 CPU Cooler – $ 8 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ product.aspx? Item = N82E16835200042 Mainboard: ECS A780GM-A – $ 60 (mail – $ 20-in-rebate, it brings for about $ 40, depending on taxes) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135075 Vidcard: ASUS Radeon HD 4670 – $ 65 (mail – $ 20-in-rebate, she brings to about $ 45, depending on taxes) – less than half the price of what you were looking. I seriously doubt any way that the power supply that Dell will support the Radeon HD 4670 and is an ATX power supply standard that I could say. If you just decide you want to build a completely new system and leave intact the Dell, you just need 2 more parts totaling $ 77: Hard Drive – WD 320GB SATA: $ 48 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136098 Optical Drive – LiteOn 22X DVD-RW: $ 29 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106281 Hope this helps you, I really think that the configuration I'm showing that you will blow the crap out of your list of products at a price very similar. This really will end up being less expensive. In fact, if I were you, I would finish the building with the units and maintain Dell around. You never know when a backup computer will come in handy, or would be a great Christmas gift for a family member that has a computer or an old one.
