Laptop LCD TV HDMI?

Hi, I currently have my laptop Dell XPS M1530 connected to my LCD TV via HDMI cable. When it is connected at the highest resolution (1440×900), cuts off some of the photos, it does not bother me as much as I can just lower the resolution and have a panoramic view on the overall TV. My real problem is that when I try to play a movie from my laptop I have no sound out of the TV I tried to connect an audio cable for both my phone connectors ear on my laptop and TV, but this hasn't worked. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks i will move havetried my column and changing the standard for HDMI output, but still no luck ….

To fix the edges of the image being cut off, you need to read your manual for LCD TV and know how to disable Overscan and scaling the image. If Overscan or options Image Scaling Properties of video on your laptop, you should disable it there too. How about the sound, check the sound settings your laptop and see if it is configured to output sound via the HDMI port. Good luck.
