Dell Xps M1210 Charger

Why is my Dell XPS M1210 stuck in the "trickle charge" the battery?

I've had a lot of problems with my battery / charger recently. I I can not get the battery to fast charge, no matter what. And the little LED light, says that my battery is low and discharge, despite the fact that the battery icon thing / on my screen says I'm connected to AC power. What is wrong here? I can not run on AC power alone, without the battery, the computer will get the boot for about 2 seconds and then cut and off. I have two different batteries, the original Dell one that is not recognized as installed and on my computer when it really is (the screen icon on AC power with time). The latest Dell is not exactly a show in my management energy, but I can not fast charge the thing. Please help, I'm in the middle of final exams and I need to use my laptop!
