Where can I get XP drivers for a Dell XPS M1330?
I have a new Dell XPS M1330 which came with Vista Home Premium installed. I would like to install Windows XP Pro, but have run through a driver problem. The site Dell support * not * have XP drivers for sound cards or video. I managed to fins a driver suitable for the video, but I have not been able to run the audio. The actual card / audio chip is a Sigmatel 9228 Cest. I tried drivers for similar models such as M1210 and Inspiron 1501. No luck. I tried a general web search for such, even the Sigmatel / IDT web site. No luck. Any ideas?
Driver Audio XP is the same as the Dell Vostro 1400 (I think). Anyway, if you go to Dell's Web page, do a search for the driver called "r153908". That one worked for me. In addition, you can find the default driver for the web cam does not work (it does not for me, I'm using the camera of 2.0 mega pixel). This camera is the Creative Labs. The driver for the CL live cam notebook driver training. He adds, as a whole "-ware" and that can give you some errors (just uninstall that part) but the driver works well, once the installation is complete. Uninstall the additional package-ware eliminates errors. One last note: if you use integrated video instead of the NVIDIA driver you need is the Intel Web site. Do a search for the driver installation file called "win2k_xp1431.exe. BTW, I can not have credtit for all this. A wonderfully useful techie Dell got me through it.
