Dell Xps M1210 Dvd Drive

I have used my laptop MacBook Air, the last 200 days. The more I use, the more I like the machine. My air is now my perfect travel companion.

Many people have complained about the lack of air. Because only one USB port, battery not swappable, no CD drive, etc to use it as a road warrior, you really appreciate the ultra portability of the air.

A single USB port. Yes! One is enough. Think about it. How many times have two USB ports simultaneously. Road Warrior as we will use to replace Bluetooth USB. We connect devices such as mobile phones, especially Bluetooth. My main use of the USB port is USB security key issued by the bank.

USB is misuse of these days, unless I'm doing an extensive backup to my external hard drive or transfer huge files. When I say large files, I'm having about the size of 100GB. With Wi-Fi 802.11n operation, transferring files from 10 to 20GB per cell is not a problem at all. 10GB can be transferred within 10 minutes.

Why make a CD. Traveler like us, will rip the DVD and playback from the hard disk. When moving, do not swap the CD inside and outside the CD. We copy the necessary data to the hard drive and use it as on the road, because we all know that access the CD drive will drain the battery faster.

Since this is the typical behavior of a warrior road. Next, remove the CD from the machine and make it an external device is a strategic move. It will save battery power and alleviate the weight. Road warrior often use the CD before you travel and then the unit will not be used until the User is back to base. If the User really need the CD drive, then take it with him.

I do not need extra battery. The battery can last 2 to 6 hours depending on how I use. My Air survive a journey of 12 hours from a single charge. Of course, a seasoned traveler like me, know how to conserve and optimize the battery last as long as he can. With the combination of on and off wireless and use the keyboard lit bit, I'm sure you can extend the battery life of the MacBook Air as good as me.

MacBook Laptop Air does not have flaws. The deficit is more important, there is no security lock. You can not hold it to an immovable object. Thus, this Air really make my laptop, I have to take it to the bathroom to pee me if I have nobody to care for him.

Another deficiency is not for me is built-in LAN port. There are times that I just need to get a job done quickly, I'd rather be connected faster connecting to the LAN port to configure the Wifi. This problem is still bearable, if I remember to bring my USB-Ethernet adapter.

Running Windows Vista via Parallels Desktop, the performance still is acceptable. But Windows XP with Parallels, I get back more CPU resources and recover 4 GB of hard disk space.

The 80GB of disk space too small for the air? Removing the rarely used my MP3 files and movies and put them on my external memory. I still have 28GB left on my air. If you are not a collector of pornography, 80GB is more than enough.

2GB of RAM and running on integrated graphics, I can multitask Photoshop, Parallels Desktop, iPhoto, iMovie iTunes and comfortably. I am also using Final Cut Express on my air. The trick to run on air, it is best to keep the exhaust fan RPM as low as possible and that is around 2000 RPM. The lower the RPM, the more applications you can run and faster.

Remember the MacBook Air is not a laptop MacBook Pro packs But Air performance much thinner chassis ideal for the traveler.
