I accidentally pressed the Dell Media Direct, now .. problems?

I accidentally pressed the button DMD, my laptop with a screen connected to a DMD second pair then "Starting Windows" screen appeared, then it works fine (select User, password, loads on Windows, Internet, all). The problems are: 1. Power button is not functional. 2. Call pressing the DMD, I can turn the laptop off if I press the DMD in the fed state. 3. Occasionally laptop will get its own (perhaps because of the DMD) and takes it to select User and password information on the screen my system: Dell XPS M1210 Windows 7 OS Pro Please help if anyone knows the fix, I do not want to reinstall or lose data if possible. Thanks

when you upgraded win7 your probably broke your MediaDirect partition is a separate partition on the hard disk. All media button on a computer, be it Sony, HP, Dell or not to say that the HD for the boot partition. Think of a light switch at the end of a hallway or stairway. They have a light switch at both ends so you do not have to walk all the way to the other side to turn it off. In most cases, the light is on, if turned up, in my house, sometimes the option is down forward. If you deleted the partition with the installation, and your computer is set to boot partition for non-existent, you will have strange things happen. I have no doubt that there were a few other things you did when you did the installation as well. Sure, you can not just use someone's dvd. You need to buy a retail copy of win7. If you did, you win 90 days free support operating MS. Since win7 was less than 90 days, you're in great shape. If you do not buy a retail copy, you just learn about karma. Just off, press the media direct again, you can boot into Windows. If that fails, press the button again. Just do a "trial and bit error. "If you blew your MediaDirect partition, do not worry. You do not need a media partition. I never use it in any of the computers I've had in recent years. Of course, Dell does not support win7 in 1210
