Why hold off and my crappy screen resolution?

I reformatted my Dell XPS M140 laptop a few days ago and, after setting it up again, I re-installed all the recommended drivers for the model from Dell. My problem is that the characteristics of waiting and hibernation is disabled (as in, there is no setting for it in power settings and when I look in the configuration at the command prompt, it says my system does not support it). I used to waiting and hibernation on my computer all the time before reformatting, so I do not know what the problem is. If it is a driver that I need someone to please give me the link so I can download the driver, because I can not find it anywhere. I also noticed that my resolution screen is not as good as it was before formatting. I set the resolution in display settings, the highest it goes (1024 x 768), but still widespread. you probably will not download the driver from the video card. If so try uninstalling them reinstall the driver.
