Upload problem with the Dell XPS M1530?

Ok, so I have a question about my laptop. Yesterday, I realized that once I got to 66%, my laptop would be automatically stop charging and communication, "plugged in not charging" would appear. So when I closed it, and the school, the battery was empty. Is there any way to fix this or I need to buy something to solve the problem? I'm not sure how long my warrantly hard. And if you're going to tell me to do something, you can make it easier for me? I'm not exactly a computer person (: Thank you!

Can bad battery or motherboard issue. If the laptop is a year old, will be covered by the warranty. If more than one year unless you had an extended warranty you wont be covered you can go to www.dell.com / support enter the service tag, you should see warranty (will be on the right or left) or call Dell. They will ask the service tag and tell you if your under warranty or not .. The new battery is more than $ 100 at Dell
