Is there a way around the screen lock for XPS M1710?

I have a Dell XPS M1710 and about 4 months ago, for some reason, the power cord 130W stopped putting out. (A brick was 6 months, exactly on the day you stop working, this is my second power supply in 2 years.) Managed keep my laptop running (slowly, but he was still working) until yesterday. When I plug it I get the Dell BIOS screen, but then he tells me I need to hit F1 or try Replacing my power cord. There is a shortcut to bypass this screen? (I already know why your coming and all but until I can buy a new adapter, I still wish I could use it!) I looked everywhere for an answer, but need a little help from someone who may know. Thank you!

I sometimes receive this error on my XPS M1530, too. Try disconnecting the adapter for a bit and connect again, or try another outlet / power strip to see if that solves your problem. These usually do the trick. If you suspect that you really are your card, try to borrow one from a friend / neighbor that has the same / similar output and try it. Maybe ask if you can come and try in your home to verify that its output that is causing the problem. If it still persists, you may want to contact Dell directly in the forums or by phone for some advice. The worst possible scenario is that the DC-in on your computer is not working properly (but is probably not the case). If you still have warranty, then you're covered. You might even get them to send you a replacement card. In all, I do not think that is a huge mistake. The computer will probably be able to function even if you ignore the screen.
