How to go on a RAM upgrade?

My computer is running slowly, at times, and have done the usual things (Deleting Internet Files temporary disk defragmentation), I think I need an upgrade of RAM. However, I do not know how to go about it, my computer, a Dell XPS M1710 has 1GB of RAM, and have done some research, I know that has a maximum of 4GB with 2 "sockets" for memory expansion. I do not think I need much more, but I think I want another 1GB, and I'll do this? Where can I find parts (line United Kingdom), which was necessary since I have them? If someone can give a link to the exact address, as necessary part of doing this would be greatly appreciated, and help you 10 points. Thanks in advance is a computer portable by the way

Go to the link below http://www.crucial.com they might check on line, which will determine which memory RAM your motherboard supports. They recommend the ideal amount. You can order online and, although they are not the cheapest it is worth paying for good ram.
