DELL XPS M140 power adapter is not working and connected to a battery failure old?

Yesterday or the power adapter for my Dell XPS M140 good and I'm planning to get a new one. But before I do that, I just want to ask Y! Users answer – you think my old battery – not is difficult or impossible to recover all has something to do with the failure of the power adapter. The battery fell couple of months ago – so I wonder if there is any connection between the two power source.

More likely is that the battery had nothing to do with the fact that the power adapter. The adapter may have stopped charge the battery before it failed.
