Dell Xps Power Cord

Could anyone help me with my monitors to my computer?

I have a Dell XPS 210 and it came with what I think is called a display adapter. It is a cable that has a gray plug that I put in the Dell and then the 2 blues that I can connect to 2 monitors. I have it connected to 2 monitors and when I start it I get a double image, which is what I want. However, during the process when I get close to get to a desktop screens off (I think) and the power button orange glow. What can I do for my Dell will display the computer image on both monitors. For example, say I was playing a game that I want The Game to show up in both the monitors, but I control The Game with 1 keyboard and 1 mouse. By the way I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. I do not if the OS has nothing to do with it. If you know what to do I just need instructions required.

Get a book called Windows Vista for Dummies and read about the part that tells you how to make the two monitors. www.dummies.com ok or go to your local book store to pick up a copy.
