Dell Xps Screen Problem

what is the best Dell Inspiron 1720 or Dell XPS 1530?

I want a laptop for college and I am confused between Dell Inspiron 1720 and XPS 1530 from Dell. I I heard that the XPS has cooling problems and needs a ventilator. Really? and is the same with the Inspiron? both have almost the same RAM, storage and processor, but different screen sizes is 15.4 while the XPS Inspiron 17, which is better? Does the Inspiron has a fingerprint reader?
