Solid State Hard Drives?

I heard that these things were dynamite in the new tech savvy and computer hard drives. I'm using a machine Dell XPS M1330 With Windows Vista Ultimate. I'm wondering now if I by a SSD and blow $ 1000 or wait until Windows 7 comes out because I heard it is more advantageous than Vista, and will only write about it. So should I get a solid or wait for 7? E 7 is as good as it seems? I just have to connect the SSD and get rid my old hard drive? As I am only in grade 7, please do not complicate too much, lol:) Thanks for your help!

The man, his parents should be charged if they are letting you blow a stack on a computer, when you're 13/14 I mean, if you work for you, then keep it, it seems you have a very nice machine as it is, so just stay with it. SSD is the wave of the future, they have no moving parts, so they are vulnarable less wear. They also require less energy to operate and last longer, they are also lighter and have the potential to make WAY more that a normal hard disk. Just say you're the money now and buy new underwear and socks, you may never have to many pairs of underwear and socks.
