Dell Xps System Recovery
Can I use the system for recovering the operating system that came with my laptop on a new hard drive?
when I bought my XPS M1210, it came originally with backup CDs including a new installation of Windows Vista Home Premium, Re-installing the Dell laptop Computer Software, webcam software, Dell Media Direct software, CDs and restoration hardware. I justbought a new hard drive, separate from Dell, which does not come pre-installed with Windows Vista, and I wanted know if I can use those CDs to install Vista on new hard disk? And if I can there is a specific order I install them? I do not want to accidentally damage my new hard disk so I want to make sure everything installed correctly. Thank you.
Yes you can restore your system to the new hard drive. only sure to drive the new disk has the same or greater storage capacity than the old one and set it as boot drive .. I had done it with XP on a computer emachine. You will not damage the hard drive by installing software that many people still believe that spyware or viruses, can damage the hard disk. is far from the truth. when the virus is installed on your computer that makes the hard drive is not accessible in a way you or .. that the same is true for any software that is installed on any hard drive. The software can not damage hardware, only make the data inaccessible. I have re-live that people thought it was har drive damage was enough to restore the MBR and then reformat the hard drive. Some manufacturers of hard disk as Segate offer free software to help you transfer to your computer system files to the new hard drive. Good luck!
