Question about a Dell XPS 200?

ok, I have a Dell XPS 200 with Windows XP installed on it, I want him to wipe the hard drive and put Linux Ubuntu 8:04 into it. I know that when you reinstall XP on a Dell you have to install the drivers, I have to do something to install Linux on it?
