Dell Xps Usb Drivers

How come some of my USB devices are not appearing in Vista?

I just reinstalled Vista Ultimate on my Dell XPS 710H2C and I'm having a very strange issue. Some of my USB devices are working and some are not. I went to device manager and there is nothing in conflict. I did all Windows updates and driver for my system. My keyboard and mouse work just fine (both USB) – however, my external hard drive, the iPhone and iPod does are being recognized at all when they are plugged into my computer. I know that the problem is not with the devices, because they work very well when connected to my other computers. They even worked well on my Dell until I did this format and new installation. What do I do I do?

The drivers for these devices USB is probably not installed.
