Dell Xps Vs Alienware M17
Dell vs. Dell, I'm in a bit of jam. Studio 16 Dell XPS or Alienware M17 x (think its called)?
I am perplexed that I should go to: / bare in mind that I'm a graphic artist / designer I am also a little more than a player, so I need strength, speed and kicking ** graphics.
Alienware M17x will win this one because it will provide you with the final performance. Your first option is for graphics cards ATI Radeon HD double rune 4870s in CrossfireX, which will absolutely destroy any game / do any graphic design, with ease (thus the dual Nvidia GTX 280 running in SLI, although there some minor problems with their drivers). Also, if you get a 2.8 GHz core 2 duo, there is a good chance that you can overclock up to 3.4 GHz (as I did mine). The M17x also provides fast RAM (running at 1333 MHz) with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 sharp. This machine is really made to himself. Now, if you do not really plan much at stake, it would be much more efficient to go with the XPS, it still will do and perform graphic design and some games relative ease. Two things to take into account this decision on the m17x: 1) Alienware computers are expensive, but will not hurt to pay for it, 2) Alienware computers are somewhat known for their problems, but that's to be expected, because no high-performance and will have some tricky problems. Aside from these two things, its great. Now, consider these things and have fun with any computer that you choose, because both are great systems and you will be happy with either!
