If these are your choices only 2 (I would not buy) would like to buy the first system, sell the video card on Ebay and buy a Radeon 4870 for $ 200. Dual-core 3ghz will beat a Quad 2.5. games. AMD will cost more in energy consumption. 64bit is not worth the hassle, unless use Photoshop or something that uses more than 3.5GB of memory. 64bit support is still limited. XP 32-bit would be a better choice than you do would need much RAM. Nvidia series 8-9 are prone to defects in solder to go with a Radeon 4850-70 would be a good option now. Choose Radeon is better now for the price / performance. Difference in price for a 500GB drive that much difference to a 250, but I'd rather have a system drive less because the larger units are more prone to failure or slowdown. Get a storage unit 2 or more RAID 0 set-up would be great for games.
