Replacing Dell Xps M1330 Motherboard

Dead laptop battery, Dell says to replace motherboard?

XPS M1330 my battery is completely dead (can not load itself, I can only use the laptop via AC adapter). Dell tells me to replace the motherboard could solve the problem (under warranty) before I buy a new battery (not under warranty). Good idea?

Why not? Since it's under warranty, the service would be free. Having done it, and it does not work, go ahead and buy a new battery.
