Does one require a Dell laptop battery from Dell?
I just bought a new charger for my Dell XPS M140 from eBay. The charger is compatible with my system for the most part. However, the computer says it does not recognize the charger and will not allow the battery to charge. I know it's not just a problem in Windows, because even the BIOS gives me the same message when I turn on the computer. Is there any way to get this computer to load with the AC adapter generic? A BIOS update … nothing? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can not afford a new Dell charger. Remember, the Member bios that the charger is not recognized. So the drivers downloading can not solve this problem.
Unfortunately yes you do. I have searched many places for other sources to get a charger. Even a universal charger kit will do it. You have to take what is for this model of laptop. Dell is very expensive, but ask around places that deal with the repair laptop, you can get a lot cheaper.
