Dell Xps Microphone

I bought a microphone for my laptop and not even recognized. I'm using Vista. The offer of microphones Yahoo?
The standard computer microphone # is MC-1000 and Cyber Acoustics is the manufacturer. I have a Dell XPS M1210. There are no instructions or software that came with this mic. Is there any configuration I'm missing in my O / S (Vista)?
First, this is a USB microphone? (I looked at the product and could not find any information on this) If not, and it uses a standard 1/8th inch audio jack (looks just like a regular headphone Jack), then your computer will not recognize it. It will only work automatically. Which program you are trying to get to work? Each program is different from how it recognizes the microphone. Try opening your volume settings. Make sure that the microphone is not muted, and the volume is a little above. If it is a USB microphone, the driver can not be installing correctly. Try going to the manufacturer's website and install the software for it. Otherwise, it may be just what you need to make sure it is not muted, as the microphone 1/8th inch above.
