Filtration systems of irrigation water, Media and disc filters [2 of 5]
The media
Filtering target = "_blank" title = "Irrigation"> irrigation water with the media (sand and gravel) filters also known as depth filtration. The filter media perform the filtering of water through a thick layer of particle classification. These particles can be sand, gravel or other granular material of the discussions. The degree of filtration depends on the effective size of the bed and the velocity of water passing through the filter.
As the sand / media filters work:
The water enters through the filter door and seeps through the filter bed. When the subject matter comes in contact with media particles, it absorbs. The water then goes through the filter collectors, located in bottom of the reservoir through the filter of the filter output. Cleaning is done by washing. Water is inserted in the reverse direction – from the top of the collectors filter, causing the suspension of the filter bed, thus releasing the material in suspension from the bed and is released through a backwash valve. Washing can be done automatically according to differential pressure and / or according to time intervals. When your water source is a river, reservoir or open water water, the filter media can be the heart of the system of drip irrigation.
Disc Filters
Disc Filters integrate the benefits old methods of filtering and screen media, and have their own unique advantages. Manual disc filters are useful for filtration of both grains of sand and a variety of organic materials. Disc filters are the best choice for almost all micro target = "_blank" title = "irrigation"> irrigation systems.
Small discs of nylon are slots in both sides of each disk to a specific size micron. A number of these discs are then stacked and compressed in a specially designed column. When stacked, the groove on top is performed in front of the groove below, create a filter element with a significant series of intersecting grooves that hold the solids. During filtration, the discs are compressed together and by a combination of power, or spring or tightening the nut and the pressure differential, providing high efficiency filtration. Filtration occurs when the water is percolating from the end device to the core element.
The disc filter is clean, loosen the nut of the disc, and washing the discs released under a strong flow of water. Discs roll around a central column quickly, thus of the dirt is separated due to centrifugal force.
To automatically clean the disks, there is a mechanism for releasing the clamp between the discs, thus separated from each other trapped particles are released and back-washed, known methods called Spin Spin Klin and clean.
