How to choose the computer game right?

I want something around 1500 to 2300 dollars, but how do I choose the right hardware to be able to run current games as well as new games like Crysis. Is "Velocity Micro" or "Maingear" no good for a custom PC? I came up with this configuration work? Give suggestions Card: GeForce 8800GTS 640MB Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Motherboard: EVGA nForce 680i SLI (to upgrade to SLI later) Memory: 2GB Corsair DDR2 Hard Drive: Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10,000 rpm Audio: SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeMusic OS: Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista Home Premium

yeah, thats a good configuration … but I would suggest adding another hard drive, because if ur a super player like me, then lots of disk space is neaded for all games since most games take up more than 2GB these days. GeForce is a good brand graphics card, but I suggest getting an ATI Radeon 2900XT because THEVE been proven to beat the GeForce 8000 series, in most tests. Also if the bills do not bother u, then try to get a crossfire or SLI graphics cards because ur can double its production of graphics in a game. The mobo and CPU are good, but Logitech makes the best mice and keyboards for games so I would suggest also browse there .. Enjoy!
